Squint, and you can almost make it out...
Another day, another new-ish bike from Italy. Despite sounding like a coffee franchise, the Corsa Corta is actually a pimped version of MV Agusta's current sportsbike, the F4 1000.
The Corsa Corta uses a slightly de-tuned version of MV's top of the range F4 1000RR's 998cc motor which features a different crank and a few internal tweaks such as bigger titanium valves compared to the engine in the 2010 F4. While the RR's engine makes 201bhp, the Corsa Corta 'only' makes 195.2bhp, which is sure to disappoint owners immensely...
The chassis remains pretty much unchanged from the 2010 model F4, and features Marzocchi 50mm forks, a Sachs shock, Brembo monoblock radial calipers and 320mm discs. And all this for a price of £18,800 Euros, or about £16,000 by the time it gets to the UK. But at least you get a choice of colours, the CC comes in red/grey or white/grey.
Just like Ducati with its Hypermotard 1100EVO SP Corse Edition that PH revealed on Friday, MV is planning on unveiling something far more exciting at the Milan Motorcycle show on November 8th hence the early appearance of the Corsa Corta. In MV's case it is the new 675cc inline triple F3 sportsbike and its naked brother the Brutale 675, which is essentially the F3 minus its fairing and with a set of flat bars replacing the sporty slip-ons.
