We've all hit the brakes in a panic when we see the yellow peril of a speed camera lurking behind a tree, but this Swiss rider has had his day ruined in more ways than one.
Boris Maier, for it is he who is skimming down the road in his red and black leathers, spotted the speed camera in time - or so he thought. Slamming on the brakes on his Honda SP-1 (that's what PH reckons it is, any other thoughts?) at 66mph (107kph), 38 year old Boris broke more than his speed, he also broke the front wheel's traction with the tarmac.
Entering the 50mph (80kph) limit on his arse at 66mph, poor old Boris was still snapped by the camera and issued with a penalty ticket. On the bright side he only received a ticket, had he not managed to scrub 3kph off his velocity by hitting the ground he would have been banned for being 30kph over the limit!
Never mind Boris, at least the sympathetic cops haven't released an embarrassing image of you crashing so you can be mocked the world over. Oh, they have...
