A convertible version of the oh-my-word-that's powerful
650hp Shelby GT500 Mustang
is set to be unveiled at the Detroit motor show next week.
The drop-top version of the outrageous coupe (which was unveiled at last year's LA show) is hardly a huge surprise, however - GM arch-rival, the Camaro ZL1, has been publicly earmarked for a convertible version from day one.
As for the finer details, you'll have to wait until the official unveiling, but we do know that the same 5.8-litre supercharged V8 will be providing the same 650hp and 600lb ft of torque. Though we doubt that you'll get the same 200mph top end with a canvas roof - so expect to see Ford bring some sort of electronic speed limiter into play.
