FIESTA ST PRICES & SPECS REVEALED
Ford finally puts a price on the head of its new fast Fiesta
Seat Ibiza Cupra and Mini Cooper S, both of which produce similar power and performance figures, while the more powerful Renault Clio RS and Peugeot 208 GTI are expected to cost considerably more. In fact, the ST will even undercut Skoda's Fabia vRS which, assuming it drives as well as we're expecting, could make it the best value small hot hatch on the market.
That’s not all, though: Ford has given us a little more detail on the first petrol turbo Fiesta since the somewhat frenetic RS Turbo of the early ’90s. We already knew that the new car’s 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine will produce 180hp and 177lb ft, and Ford now tells us that it’ll give the ST a 0-60 time of 6.9sec and a top speed of 136mph. What’s more, three-door enthusiasts will be happy to hear that that’ll be the only variant we’ll get over here – while there will be a five-door option, it’ll only be available across the pond.
