"It is an ex-European rallycross twin-turbo 6R4. They did the European rallycross from 1987 to 1990, then we got banned. It was the first twin-turbo 6R4 ever made, so it was done in about 1987 - they only came out in '86, through 'til 1990. After that it got stripped down and then laid up for 20 years and I rebuilt it last year."
"We've been doing the Time Attack championship. This last year, 2012, with this car, the previous three years in a different 6R4. Last year we moved up to the Pro class and we finished second. It's a championship that's been formed really for all of the Japanese stuff, Evos, Imprezas, Skylines, that sort of thing, so this is a lot different to all of those. At any given event there's probably 50, 60 cars there, all modern, quality cars, but this one certainly gets the most attention."
What did you make of today?
"Great fun! It's nice to get them out and do this sort of event because a lot of people don't get to see the old Group B cars. The car feels great. There's no grip unfortunately because we're on race slicks so we can't get any heat into them. The track's a little bit too small for this, where the track finishes, this wants to take off! Take it to Silverstone and it's got the legs for somewhere like that, so this here is a little bit like a tamed tiger."
