JAGUAR XJR REVEALED
550hp super-saloon launched as flagship Jaguar model
The new XJR will be powered by the same 550hp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 as the new XFR-S. That means the new car will boast a whopping 155hp more than the previous X358 model. It should also mean a torque figure of 502lb ft, a 0-62mph time somewhere around the five-second mark, and a top speed pegged at 186mph or just shy. It’ll also feature, says Jaguar, “bespoke chassis and aerodynamic developments” – more of which should be revealed at a later date. Jaguar is, nevertheless, promising the most focused, agile and responsive Jaguar XJ ever made.
2000-model X308, featuring the later steel tensioners and non-Nikasil V8 engine? It’s in a tasteful combo of Pacific Blue over oatmeal, and has all the history you could ever want. Under £7,000 for this X350, meanwhile, seems like remarkable value, though there’s no mention of history which could be a reason for that. Although pricier, this example with its full history, plus a few choice options including touchscreen sat nav and 20” wheels, could be a safer bet.
