Sore about missing out on that
LaFerrari
? Got four million euros burning a hole in your pocket? If yes to both of the above then you've a chance of putting together an instant collection of Ferrari's recent hypercar hits in one job lot at a forthcoming sale by RM Auctions at Villa d'Este.
Start the collection with the 288 GTO...
At the upper end of the estimate scale the
288 GTO
F40
F50
Enzo
599XX
on sale will set you back 3,830,000 euros. Round it up to a square four million and you could have a
550 Barchetta
too, this little lot just the more recent of a selection of 16 Ferraris RM will be off-loading at the sale.
The haul also includes a 365 GTB/4Daytona coupe (320,000 euros), a stunning 400 Superamerica Aerodinamico (2.2m euros) and a matching numbers 340/375MM Berlinetta Competizione for 'estimate on request'.
But it's the chance to bag that full house of coveted recent 'invitation only' hypercars that will appeal most of all, at least to the PH generation. This being RM these aren't high mileage rotters with dodgy histories or, indeed, any previous starring roles in videos by our friends TaxTheRich...
...then add the F40 it spawned...
The Enzo in question has just over 1,000km on the clock, the F50 similarly bona fide and Ferrari certified and number 283 of the 349 built. Slightly less exotic in the rarity stakes but, possibly, the greater 'hero' its
F40
predecessor
is a relatively leggy 40,000km example but also comes with the necessary Ferrari Classiche certification. Most valuable of the lot, the 1985
288 GTO
is the only one of this group with a direct homologation history, the 35,000km example here carrying an estimate of 950,000 euros on its own.
The rarest and most expensive of the modern Ferraris on sale is, however, the 599XX. Number 25 out of 29 built, it's not what you'd call conventionally pretty and you'll be pretty limited in where you can actually use it, what with it not being road legal or anything.
...before snapping up the F1-honed F50
All are likely to be left in the shade by that 340/375MM Berlinetta Competizione though. It is, after all, an ex-works car with Le Mans history from 1953, this 60th anniversary of its appearance at the race likely to add a zero or two to the price at least.
Amazing car but let's not get too greedy. The 288, F40, F50 and Enzo would do for now, leaving 2,750,000 euros to find.
The sale itself takes place on May 25 on the shores of Lake Como, leaving a few attempts yet at the lottery if you don't have the cash lying around. And if you do strike lucky and need a hand driving any of them back you know where to find us...
