Peugeot tell us that the carbon-hewn, 875kg, 875hp T16 is undergoing its final tests as we speak, and for this last shakedown it’s been wheeled out in full war-paint. In other words, the traditional Peugeot Talbot Sport stripes of pale blue, yellow, dark blue and red, as worn by not only the 405s of Vatanen and Unser, but also the
Group B 205 T16
rally cars that preceded them. And whether you consider the 208 to be a worthy recipient of the T16 badge or not, you have to admit that Pug’s motorsport stripes are, and always have been, just plain cool. Mind you, cool will have to translate to fast if Loeb's to come out on top of his more established rivals at the event, in the shape of

Of course, if the original is still the best for you, then you’ll probably be more interested in this stunning 205 T16 that’s currently for sale in our classifieds. The ad says it’s right-hand-drive, but the pics suggest otherwise; other than that, the only drawback is that you’ll have to pop over to Cyprus to pick it up. Still, it’s holiday season, isn’t it?
