Land Rover's cake chopper was more impressive
Anyway, as you might have guessed this is yet another strand on the bow for Porsche's half century of 911s celebrations involving lots of cars, a cake and a photocall for Wolfgang Porsche (son of Ferry, possessor of the world's most expansive job title in Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG) and board president Matthias Muller. Porsche's cake didn't get delivered on a military helicopter

The purpose of this glad-handing was to open an exhibition at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart based on ... well, you know what it's based on ... comprising lots of rare and unusual 911s. It runs until September 29 and includes more than 40 examples of the car, supported by brochures, posters and other related memorabilia. Kicking off with a reconstruction of the 901's 1963 Frankfurt show debut, exhibits include one of the 19 911 Rs from 1967, a Carrera RSR, an ex-Le Mans 934 from 1976, an armoured 996 (nor us) and various racing versions. Free entry to the museum will be granted to anyone either born in 1963 or a current 911 owner saving you a whole eight euros on admission. For more see the museum website here and in the meantime enjoy a few highlights from the show here.
