summarises its most notable successes at Le Mans and elsewhere. There are the aforementioned 956s and 917s, plus a 356 and a stunning Martini 935 for good measure all demonstrating how Porsche has proved doubters wrong over the years.
But can anybody really conquer Audi's dominance at La Sarthe? It's seen off nearly all comers recently, and the Bentley victory in 2003 was hardly free from Audi influence. Since 2000, an Audi has won Le Mans every year apart from 2003 and 2009, the latter when a Peugeot 908 claimed first place. But despite Audi's recent domination, Porsche still holds the record for the most Le Mans wins. All the ingredients are there for a titanic 24-hour duel. Bring on 2014, and let battle commence!
