This year marks a decade since Bentley won at Le Mans with the Speed 8 and 90 years since the first 24 Hours, where Bentley was the only British manufacturer. So how best to mark the occasion of British success in a great European endurance race? Launch a limited edition
Mulsanne
just for America, of course.
Verdant Green is 'Dudley Benjafield' spec
Making its debut at this week's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the Mulsanne Le Mans Edition features a specification that blends 'sportsmanship and heritage matched to the highest standards of technology and craftsmanship'. Technology is covered by 'sports tuned' suspension and steering, whilst craftsmanship comes in the shape of diamond-quilted leather on the seat and doors.
For sportsmanship and heritage though, Bentley has taken a rather unique approach. To mark its six Le Mans victories, individual specifications are available for the Mulsanne named after six victorious drivers. They can all be viewed here, but our favourite is the 'Glen Kidston': Dark Sapphire paint, Newmarket Tan/Imperial Blue interior and dark stained burr walnut with dark aluminium fascia.
Additional distinguishing features of the Mulsanne Le Mans include drilled alloy pedals and 'dark tint' alloy wheels. There's also the obligatory numbered plaque and a few extra badges.
Those American customers after a Mulsanne Le Mans best hurry though; just 48 will be made, as well as 48 Continental GT version with identical specification enhancements.
