So it's September, the nights are drawing in and summer is disappearing once more with worrying haste. However, September also brings one of the motoring highlights of the year; the Goodwood Revival.
Now less than two weeks away, the 2013 Revival will play host to the Freddie March Memorial Trophy, a celebration of the Tour de France plus the Fordwater Trophy, a race for production-based sports and GT racers (Mercedes SL, Jaguar XK140 et al) from between 1955 and 1960.
But the highlight of the weekend is always the Royal Automobile Club TT Race. A 60-minute, two-driver race taking place on the Sunday afternoon, the RAC TT features GT racers of the 60s worth in excess of £100 million. The grid will feature Ferrari 250s, Aston DB4s and E-Types amongst a plethora of stunning cars.
To get you in the mood, today's Time For Tea? is a highlights reel from last year's event. Even at 11 minutes long, it feels too short. The sight and sound of classic GT racers being driven by greats such as Jean Alesi is just magnificent. Less enjoyable is the sight of two hefty crashes, but the commitment can't be faulted!
Have an extra biscuit with tea this afternoon; this is more than worth it.
