Oh Honda, why must you tease us so? Seemingly unsatisfied with revealing a
Civic Type R
looking nearly production ready two years before it goes on sale and drip-feeding us
NSX update
s
, now we have a new Integra.
We wanted another one of these...
So another LSD-equipped hardcore coupe, a valedictory hurrah for high-revving Hondas and a reimagined
PH Hero
? Not as such. Honda, the swines, now apply the Integra nomenclature to its motorbikes. You'll excuse us for getting excited by the headline.
The Honda Integra Sport Edition is in fact a 'maxi scooter' with a 52hp 670cc engine and a dual-clutch transmission. There's 46lb ft of torque also, which is quite a bit for a Honda petrol engine...
Those figures aren't even produced at some sky-high engine speeds either, the power and torque peaks arriving at 6,250rpm and 4,750rpm respectively.
... we've been given one of these!
The Sport Edition carries a few Honda Racing trinkets too, most noticeably the 17-inch wheels and a 'Sport Barracuda' smoked screen. Very sporty. The Akrapovic exhaust is a welcome addition though.
Ho hum, there's isn't another 'proper' Honda Integra then. And the closest thing to it in the Honda range is probably the USDM Civic Si coupe.
Not a looker, but it makes 200hp at 7,000rpm and has a diff, so all is not lost yet. For English folk, may we suggest eyeing up DC2s and DC5s in the PH Classifieds? This 1996 JDM Type R looks a beaut.
