F-Type
you've been waiting for, isn't it? We know the convertible, we love the convertible, but the coupe promises to make the F Type experience even more sensational again.
Spy images have been circulating for a while now but this lead shot, submitted by a sharp-eyed PHer, show a V8 S coupe on the M69 headed towards MIRA from Castle Bromwich. A journey it's probably made a few times by now.
Furthermore, a few European spy shots have shown another rather interesting V8 S. Take a look at the wheels of the car in the bottom pic; the snowflake design of the alloys is new, but so are the orange calipers. Is Jaguar planning on introducing carbon ceramic brakes to the F Type V8, as seen on the XKR-S GT? Some have been critical of the cabrio V8's 1,665kg kerbweight, so perhaps Jaguar has made attempts to shed a few kilos for the coupe, and make it even more driver-focused.
What do those orange calipers signify then?
The styling has, thankfully, stayed very close to the
C-X16
concept, the sloping hatchback deliberately evoking its iconic predecessor. Might free up some actual boot space now too...
With nothing official as yet, we can only speculate on the F-Type coupe spec and invite you to do the same. Expect to see it at a motor show during 2014 attracting quite a crowd.
