Something slightly different from Petrolicious this week. Instead of focusing one person and their car, here it details the competitors of an entire series. Rather enjoyable it is too.
VARA, the Vintage Auto Racing Association, has been running on America's West Coast since 1973 to cater for older racing cars. With models up to the mid-70s now eligible, there's a fascinatingly eclectic bunch of cars on track. Old tin-tops from Alfa, BMW and Volvo race open Lotuses and Morgans plus single seaters. It really appears a catch-all series for almost any car and person to turn up and race.
Sure, we have historic motorsport in the UK, but doesn't it just look even more appealing in the Californian sunshine? The members we meet in the video are laid-back and rather philosophical on their endeavours, making it all seem fabulously relaxed and easygoing. The racing is no contact, of course.
It's another classy Petrolicious film, one that makes you want to race like these guys, just for the love of it. Put the kettle on and start dreaming...
