The new BMW M3 and M4 promise much. But there's a nagging doubt - articulated in an earlier blog - that 'M' now stands as much for marketing as it does motorsport. And if you fear the new M models might be too much of the former and not enough of the latter there exists a ray of light. Possibly.

But come on BMW, how much do we want to see a road legal version and an updated take on the thuggish 1 Series M Coupe?
