Fresh from describing its
new F model
as gritty, Lexus has coined a catchy new slogan for its second teaser image seen here. Though it was quite safely assumed anyway, its 'half the doors, twice the roar' confirms it will be based on the RC. So if it has half the doors of the
IS-F
with two, will the roar come from eight exhausts?
In another succinct update on its new performance flagship, Lexus says it will indeed be 'conceived with grit' which sounds rather preferable to the car itself being gritty. We're also promises an 'entirely new expression of design and uncompromising performance'. Does the bonnet scoop perhaps imply a turbo under there that needs to be kept cool? Toyota and Lexus are embracing turbo tech again so it's far from unfeasible, especially with the M3/M4 using a blown straight six to 430hp and over 30mpg. The IS-F's 5.0-litre V8 certainly won't do that.
No doubt another image or two will emerge before Lexus fully reveals it in Detroit. We'll keep out eyes on #AsphaltUp for updates, just so you don't have to.
