Corvette Stingray
hasn't even been driven in the UK yet (as soon as possible, promise), but the Z06 is already being prepared for a debut at Detroit next week.
Pilot Sport Cups wise with 620hp
Now Corvette would like us all to keep tabs on the Z06 reveal site until the unveiling on Monday, presumably as information is drip fed through to maintain interest. However, a little bit of internet digging has revealed some info early, through the Chevy website. Then it disappeared.
Late yesterday afternoon, putting '2015 Corvette Z06 supercar reveal' into Google would have shown the Z06 makes 620hp and 650lb ft according to Chevrolet (see the screengrab). Today it's gone, proof surely it shouldn't have been there. That's a hell of a lot given the previous C6 ZR1 made 640hp and 604lb ft. What will the C7 ZR1 be like?
There's not a huge amount of additional info at present. Corvette is promising it will be the 'the most advanced Corvette ever made', and the teaser image shows it's running a very trick looking Michelin Pilot Sport tyre.
Z06 power revealed. Yesterday
PH has some experience with the
last Z06
, it providing our transport back from Geneva a few years back. 'Endearing' probably best sums up that experience from reading the story. You can see what Chris Harris made of the Z06 back in his Autocar days
here
More info on the C7 Z06 as it arrives.
(N.B. We know the lead image isn't a Z06, but it illustrates the point for now).
