Toyota has done a very good job of reminding all in cardom why we love motor shows at Detroit; the
FT-1
was a brilliant surprise and the Lexus RC F is reputedly better
in the flesh
than on a screen. Maybe there's still something left in this poking around new metal in an exhibition hall for a while yet.
But Toyota and Lexus shot themselves in the foot slightly by bringing an LFA along also, as seen in Chris's first Detroit blog. The perfectionist's supercar, the Lexus to lust after and in possession of one of the finest engines ever produced.
The Nurburgring Package made the LFA even more expensive with another 10hp plus some suspension and aero tweaks. It served a purpose too, with the car lapping the Nordschleife in 7:14. That's 11 seconds quicker than an Aventador or an SLS Black Series.
So here is that 'ring lap again, unfortunately rendered in fairly low quality. But the absurd speed can certainly be seen, even if the beautiful noise isn't recorded that well. See Lexus's LFA Bruntingthorpe video for that.
