What you're looking at here is the latest Caterham logo as it continues its diversification into new sectors and markets. Whether that remains a wise move or not only time will tell (Caterham Bikes hasn't exactly been received too well) but the rebranding does offer another opportunity to discuss Caterham's future plans.
'Proud British heritage' is the central tenet of the new logo and its Union Flag. The green is there as even Caterham must be seen to be green in 2014.
As a reminder, the Caterham Group now comprises Caterham Cars, Caterham Technology and Innovation (CTI), Caterham Composites, Caterham Bikes, Caterham Moto Racing Team and the Caterham Challenge. And the F1 team. And the GP2 team.
So what does the future hold for Caterham and its 'bold new Group rebrand'? Its F1 team enters its fifth season this year, Caterham Composites is working on seats for an Airbus (yes, really) and the Alpine sports car continues its development. Of course the most important project for Caterham in 2014 is PH in the Academy but it hasn't felt the need to mention that.
Tony Fernandes has added: "I firmly believe that we will look back on 2014 as the year the Caterham story really began". We eagerly, if slightly apprehensively, anticipate the next news from Caterham.
