After a period of prolonged and quite worrying silence on Michael Schumacher's condition, it is brilliant to report what seems to be good news. A fresh statement has been released by his family through his agent Sabine Kehm ahead of the 2014 F1 season beginning.
It says that the seven-time F1 champion is displaying "small, encouraging signs" with doctors still attempting to bring Schumacher out of his induced coma.
Though reasserting that it is still "a time to be very patient", his relatives also added: "We are and remain confident that Michael will pull through and will wake up". It is now 72 days since Schumacher's skiing accident in Meribel.
That's all the information provided for now. As soon as a more detailed update is available we'll let you know.
