The first thing to check with an
S2000
cabin is that you fit. The driver's seat is set quite high, so taller drivers may find they feel as if they are sitting on the car rather than in it. With the GT's hard top fitted, head room can also be an issue for those over six feet tall.
Power hood is super-quick in operation
The leather seats are comfortable and the steering can be adjusted for angle. In front of the driver is a simple three-spoke steering wheel and digital dash. The rev counter swings across the upper side of the dash while speed is displayed in the centre. On the left-hand side of the pod are the controls for the ventilation, while on the right-hand side are the stereo controls and starter button. The stereo is hidden behind a hinged panel in the centre console.
Otherwise, the S2000's cabin is as hard wearing as it is functional. Twin airbags are standard, along with an aluminium gear knob and air conditioning. Early cars might still have their cassette radio stereo, but many will have aftermarket stereos now fitted. Make sure the trim around the stereo housing isn't flapping loose or the hinged cover comes off as the plastic securing tabs used in the S2000's cabin are fragile.
PHer's view:
All the controls are also well positioned around the wheel and the dash is very retro-futuristic. Radio reception is not great though this is not something to complain at with VTEC available.
