When Sebastien Vettel was collecting F1 World Championships like stamps he was the ideal poster boy for Infiniti; heck, it even created the FX50 Vettel Edition. And who wouldn't want a car with a four-time F1 champ involved somewhere in its development?
Only the Q50 wasn't all that and now Vettel is languishing in sixth place in the driver's standings. Hmm. But the Q50 Eau Rouge remains Infiniti's ray of hope for enthusiasts. Look beyond the F1 marketing sheen and there are great people like Jerry Hardcastle involved in the development, that infamous GT-R engine and some real potential for a very good sports saloon.
The first drives of the prototype have suggested the Eau Rouge could be a competitor with some further honing before production. Remember how Lexus shook up the sports saloon market when the IS-F first arrived? Infiniti is in the position to just the same now by making a Q50 Eau Rouge, with Seb in the press shots or not. Wonder if it'll do Eau Rouge flat?
