VW Polo (two). Ford Sierra XR4x4, VW Polo. Honda CBR 600 F2, CBR 900 Fireblade, Ducati 996S, 996R.
Audi RS4 B5, Ducati 998RS and MV Agusta F1000 312RR.
"If I had £100K and no other needs I would likely buy sports cars and several bikes. However back in the real dream world, this collection tries to satisfy a number of different needs. I have always wanted some British metal but have not been successful in buying any so far. This list also satisfies family duties, a desire for fast vehicles whilst I still can, reliving the idea of driving for pleasure, a continuing love of motorcycles and a project or two to keep some previously well loved cars alive."
Audi RS6
"This RS6 is just too tempting. It was going to be a sensible S6 but this is a dream garage so no point in doing that. I have owned an RS4 and loved it but they are a bit small for a family car. An RS6 with warp factor performance would make the daily drive, family duties and foreign holidays relatively stress free.
"This example looks completely standard from the outside but has been professionally tuned to 700hp. Any car like this with 500hp plus and rear wheel-drive makes no sense to me. This RS6 has more extras than I could even imagine. It has had one owner and of course been fully serviced. This one has low(ish) mileage, an expandable warranty (not always bullet proof) covering the car and extra performance, all of which mitigate the pitfalls of owning an RS6 for me. It does assume a personal GDP the size of Luxembourg to feed it though."
BMW M Coupe
"A car that divides opinion. I drove one, loved it and I really like the looks more than the Z4M and it is in a different league to the soft top Z3. The M Coupe is also a practical car with enough room for lots of shopping, a dog or plenty of equipment. For activities where the RS6 is not required.
"You can pay up to £30K for a later version but this has the later engine and the Vanos is in good condition. It has clearly been looked after and has some interesting and useful upgrades. They almost all came with two-tone 80s heavy metal jacket leather interior but this is better than most. The pimp glass will have to go."
TVR Tamora
"I have always wanted a TVR and it would be great to blow £50K on a Sagaris. However that is just too much and I would like one loud, functioning British convertible for the collection. The Tamora is often overlooked but is relatively wrinkle free TVR and is less than ten years old with low milage and a great exterior and interior colour. For the wife, sunny days and when driving can just be fun. This Tamora is a proper convertible and a little less likely to kill me, the wife or any siblings than other TVRs while keeping some of TVR's unique eccentricity."
Ducati 1199 S
Cost: £11,000
Balance: £7,585
Why I chose it: "I have now owned three Ducati 916 derivatives and thought about another one but I am over 21 again. The 1199 has a slightly less debilitating riding position than the 916 as well as some electronics likely to make a trip to hospital less likely in the future. Long service intervals and good reliability make it cheap to own and it would likely be my last sports bike and more inspiring than Japanese fours. The 1199 is great for the road but also very effective on the track. This 1199 S is well spec'd with Ohlins suspension, light wheels and Brembo radial brakes. It is in immaculate condition with nearly new tyres, no marks and low mileage."
Alfa Romeo GTV V6 Lusso
"Project car. The Alfa 3.0-litre is one of the best and most beautiful sounding V6 engines ever made. I love the shape of these and everyone should apparently own one Alfa in their lives. The blue colour, black leather interior and the cloverleaf wheels; perfect. At that price the car will need some TLC and money spending on it, making it a perfect project car."
Land Rover 110 CSW
Cost: £3,490
Balance: £100 (enough for two miles worth of fuel for the RS6).
Why I chose it: "Project car. A real Land Rover before they went all bouffant but the 110 Defender is not as basic as previous versions. Always wanted one and this example is positively luxurious with power steering and in the all important fading Landy red. The Land Rover is as versatile as it is tough. It needs refurbishment but unlike many is unadorned with roll cages, diamond plate or huge wheels and is therefore open to be upgraded and tinkered with for years to come and ready for the apocalypse."
