Quite a looker, isn't it? Say what you want about Infiniti's road cars but there's no doubt it can produce arresting motor show plinth fodder. There's a real possibility of a production spec Q80 as well.
That it's full title is 'Q80 Inspiration' implies this car is probably a little way off the showroom floor. However the official line from is that the car is designed 'to shake up the the status quo in the premium large four-door club' and this Inspiration 'is to be taken as clear intent to have an entry into the premium fastback segment'.
We would take that to mean cars like the Mercedes CLS, Audi A7 and BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe but the Q80 is in fact longer than an Aston Rapide at 5,052mm. At 2,027mm wide and 1,350mm, the Infiniti is wider and lower too which must contribute to its svelte good looks.
Anything else? Infiniti states the October 2 launch will detail a hybrid powertrain and advanced adaptive suspension for the Q80 as well as 'additional technologies'. We know already the Q80 will seat four in yet another new arrangement that must get the marketeers all giddy with excitement: '1+1+1+1'. So expect individual seating with a load of leather, aluminium and carbon inside.
For the additional details and pics we'll have to wait until next Thursday but the Q80 could, could be one to look out for at Paris.
