The Paris motor show doesn't seem all that long ago, does it? Well the wheels on the motor expo wagon keep turning and we're now eagerly anticipating the LA show. Added to the debut list this week were the all-wheel drive Jaguar F-Type and Porsche Cayenne GTS. More on those below.
Maintaining the American theme, PH has also visited the Speciality Equiment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) show. There's much more to accompany the US fascination too. See it all below!
Not your average Toyota Camry
But lets begin with the US news. We've covered many of the SEMA concepts already, from and
850hp Toyota Camry
to the Dodge Ram Outdoorsman so there was plenty to investigate over in Las Vegas. Catch up on everything
here.
From a British perspective on the LA show, the Jaguar F-Type 4WD was the biggest news of this week. There will be more details of the car and Jaguar's collaboration with the Bloodhound SSC team at the show. Arguably at the other end of the 4WD desirability scale is the Porsche Cayenne GTS, especially now the V8 has gone.
There's been a two-wheeled show taking PH's attention this week too. See everything from the Milan bike show here.
Plenty of interesting news from the motorsport world this week, particularly from rallying. In anticipation of Wales Rally GB, both
Motorsport on Monday
Pic Of The Week
focused on that muddiest of world rallies. Prodrive is a name famously linked with rallying and this week revealed its
Mk7 Golf rally car
. Shame it's only for China at the moment.
Back on the tarmac, Mazda revealed its MX-5 Global Cup Racecar based on the latest Mk4. Dan is already counting down the days to next year's Tsukuba enduro. For a rather more grown up race car, Radical has now launched two new models; the SR8 and SR3 RSX.
Back on the tarmac and not even racing in the slightest are the regular old road cars we've been talking about since Monday this week. If your reason for not buying an Audi RS Q3 was that it lacked the TT RS's power then now there is now no excuse. And if your reason for not buying a Toyota GT86 or Subaru BRZ was also a lack of power then Cosworth can help.
A busy month for the Leon!
Fear not, there's plenty more to read if you're inside sheltering from the autumnal gloom. Our Castrol Edge
competition winner
has reported back from Spain and his Ken Block driving experience, PH has chatted with the
boss of Ariel
and there's also an interview with
Raeder Motorsport
, the guys to know if you want to lap the 'ring quickly.
As always there has been much to talk about from the classifieds. BMW is unlikely to make an M Touring again, making the V10 M5 wagon look all the more appealing. Furthermore, with a very nice new 911 Targa now on sale, expect old versions like this 964 to increase in desirability. And from the auction catalogues we have a lovely selection of GRP-bodied cars. Really. There's even a Ferrari.
Shed has plumped for another red Mazda this week, about the only car manufacturer missing from our Matt's diverse £100K Garage. There's not a Leon Cupra in there though; read how his long-termer is getting on (at the hands of others!) here.
Finally, as we began on an American theme it only seems right to end on one. This weeks Carpooler is a Brit living in the States with a glorious selection of cars. His daily driver? A Ford Raptor V8. You're doing that right sir.
