Despite heavy rain and even snow predicted, it was great to see the weather forecasters proved wrong (for a change!) and to be greeted by a cold but sunny morning in Gaydon.
Firstly we must thank everyone at Aston Martin for hosting such a great event and of course you dedicated PHers that made the trip early on a Sunday. Much appreciated as always! It was great to welcome so many of you to Gaydon, some even turned up without a roof (but with plenty of clothing) so I doff my virtual cap to the roofless hardcore amongst you.
We had over 300 cars in attendance and the whole site was buzzing with people. There was plenty to look at inside too including an amazing 1:3 replica of Mr Bond's DB5 which had approximately 2,000 hours of prototyping and development time spent on it. The car was a real testament to its builders and I could have spent hours gawping at it.
There was also the chance to admire various models from Aston Martin's history and the design studio was opened up for us to see the incredible customisation available to customers. Outside, the good chaps of Aston Martin Racing displayed their pit stop skills throughout the morning and despite the cold they were on top form.
Our hosts were also running a fastest lap competition using their Gran Turismo simulator. Congratulations to winner Ashley Owen who won an Aston Martin cap and a bottle of Champagne (for his Dad. Apparently).
We'll be announcing the details for our March Sunday Service soon so make sure you keep an eye on the homepage for more details.
