While the megabucks auctions are very exciting for planning lotto-win garages, those offering more humble machinery are arguably more relevant. Especially when there’s a
BMW 633 CSI
with a £7-£9K estimate...
Along with that delightful bronze 6 Series, this auction is crammed with interesting classics and curios. See this lovely, unmolested
Golf Mk1 C
for example, with one owner and just 26,650 miles since 1982. It’s not just GTIs that are desirable! There’s a very nice classic
Range Rover
too, going to auction with an estimate of £16-£19,000. And on the British theme, there’s this
Rover SD1 Vanden Plas V8
with what’s described as a “partial history file”. But the condition is rated as 107/135, the mileage is low and it’s had just two owners. And would you just look at it?!
The star lots – as chosen by CCA we hasten to add – are a 1967 Mustang Convertible currently owned by Charles Dance (he’s in Game of Thrones apparently), a very nice Ferrari 348 Spider and a 2007 Range Rover Sport. A Range Rover Sport? Yes, because it has Mr D. Beckham a previous owner. Naturally it’s a supercharged V8 car, with some Kahn, er, enhancements too. The estimate is £23-£25K.
We’ll conclude with some more PH-worthy lots. There’s a
Mk1 MX-5
available, a multiple concours winner in fact. It’s been kept in an air chamber for the past decade, sits on original wheels and tyres and is expected to make £10-£12,000. Wow. There’s a
Datsun 240Z
being auctioned with the same estimate actually, a left-hand drive car recently imported and with a condition from the auction house of 88/135.
Special mention has to head the way of this Renault 8 though, a competition car with a Gordini engine and full roll cage. Looks rather entertaining...
So there we are, an auction previewed and not a single Porsche mentioned (!). The sale takes place this Saturday at the Warwickshire Exhibition centre. Do let us know if you buy something as well. Though perhaps not Beckham’s old Range Rover...
