On the back of the news that Citroen is going ahead with the
e-Mehari
but not bringing any to our shores, it has been brought to our attention that the Government has pledged 'nearly all' vehicles on UK roads will be
zero emission by 2050
Quite a statement when 35 million cars were licensed for use on the road in 2013. The UK is already the largest market for ultra-low emission cars in the EU and was among 13 international members committing to promote cleaner motoring and slash transport emissions at the Paris COP21 conference. Still, it's quite an aim.
What will happen to all petrol and diesel cars in that time? Can our EV infrastructure really keep up? That and more questions discussed below!
