The Alfa Romeo 90 Quadrifoglio Oro is quite the rarity in the UK. Howmanyleft.co.uk show only one is licenced to be on the road and seven others are SORN.
Predecessor to the 164, this Bertone designed executive saloon was fitted with the 2.5-litre V6 Busso and plenty of mod cons, including an electronically adjustable front spoiler and mad digital dash. This one was missing the signature dash-mount briefcase but our owner and OP has managed to track one down in Australia.
Our man clearly isn't one to panic about the flaky reputation of old Alfas, having previously owned a 147 GTA and a 75 Turbo. Plan is to use the 90 as a daily, fixing it up along the way - inevitably rust is on the urgent end of the to-do list. Other than that simply thumping switches and relying on eBay Italy are definitely ways of keeping this piece of 80s Italian cool on the road.
Congratulations 'beautifulbusso', your Alfa 90 Quadrifoglio Oro is our Reader's Car of the Week!
