Even after three years on sale, the
Jaguar F-Type
remains a very distinctive car. It's very pretty, makes lots of noise and is - arguably - still rare enough to warrant a second look.
Who cares about the ride when it looks like this?
But that's evidently not enough for some people. So if you want even more attention (probably both positive and negative) lavished on your F-Type, best speak to Piecha Design.
Apparently Jaguar is making the F-Type "less aggressive with every facelift", so that's where the German company can help. Its latest raft of updates sees the introduction of 'Front Cup Wings', larger than standard and "reminiscent of Jaguar's motorsports heritage." At the side there are new skirts which, like the front wings, can be reverted to original as they are screwed on at the original mounting points.
At the back the retractable spoiler now has an additional lip and there's a new diffuser option for all models. For the V8 car seen here, Piecha provides "more warrior-like" exhausts with new 90mm tailpipes. Because an F-Type was always lacking a little aural drama. If there is an increase in power, a number hasn't been disclosed yet.
'Warrior-like' sound promised from here
But arguably the most significant change to the F-Type's appearance is in the wheel and suspension changes. Piecha has developed a new set of coilovers, adjustable but also compatible with the standard car's electronic dampers. With wheel spacers the car now sits quite a bit lower - is it a successful look? The coupe you see here is on 21-inch wheels as well for the full tough guy look.
To some the idea of modifying a Jaguar will be anathema, but then there will be others who may embrace the idea of making the most sporting Jaguar a little more overt. Piecha have not yet released any price details, but there are contact details on the site if you're interested. Early V8 cabriolets are from £50,000 now as well...
