Brands Hatch
on Sunday enjoyed an absolute tin-top treat. Eight racers went into the weekend with a mathematical chance of the title, narrowed down after the first race and then reduced to three with Colin Turkington's sublime performance that included two wins and a pole position.
The racing was close and the tension huge as Gordon Shedden made his way to a title-winning position in race three. Given the issues faced by the team this year, to take his third BTCC - and the first man to claim back-to-back successes since Fabrizio Giovanardi - is a fantastic achievement. Well done Gordon!
Sunday's drama came just a few weeks after Shedden triumphed at the Goodwood Revival as well, the subject of this video. It's from JD Classics, but far more lavish than its typical productions. We see the team journey down with its glorious old transporter, hear interviews with both drivers and get a real feel of the Revival weekend. Plus, which car videos aren't improved by some slo-mo?
With onboards from each stint, it's fascinating to compare the style of each driver. And yes, that coming together with the Cobra is included as well. Racing cars with manual gearboxes and naturally aspirated engines really are the best, aren't they?
