Standing in the paddock at the Goodwood Festival of Speed when race engineers start the line-up of race cars is a fabulous experience. The mix of flat-12s, V8s, V10s and four-rotor engine notes mimic the sounds of an orchestra at its crescendo.
The whine of a supercharger is certainly distinctive, the rumble of an American V8 has a classic appeal and the scream of a naturally aspirated V10 is surely always a crowd pleaser. But which is your favourite?
A few of you have mentioned the Mazda 787B, plenty of Ferrari flat-12s as well as the V10s out of the Carrera GT or Lexus LFA.
