There isn't a lot to the interior of the Exige, even compared to its Elise sibling. No carpets or frills are present to wear out, but you should look for cars that have air conditioning. While some might say this adds unnecessary weight, dealers reckon it's harder to shift an Exige that doesn't have air con because the cabin can get very hot.
Another option worth having is the Performance Pack that brought racing seats with full harnesses, as well as twin oil coolers and a stereo. The Touring Pack added wider seats without racing harnesses, along with electric windows, carpets and a Blaupunkt stereo.
Any car fitted with ProBax seats is worth looking for as these optional foam pads make a big difference to comfort on longer trips. Other seating choices you might come across include Tillett carbon fibre chairs for those using their Exige on track more of the time.
PHer's view
"Air con is essential as the cabin gets pretty hot and that only gets worse when you're working hard on a track day. Anyone that says you don't need it because of the weight is talking rubbish as chilled air makes the car much more usable."
