It's not long until we see the next
McLaren Super Series
- it's due at the Geneva motor show in fact - but such is the anticipation around the car that we'll take any little hint available until then. The
650S
proved the latent potential in the original 12C, with the
675LT
introducing a rawer and more exhilarating edge; if this McLaren can combine the usability of the first with the excitement of the second then it will surely be some car.
Can you guess what it is... actually, that's a bad idea
These spy shots of the car still known as P14 for now have come from late testing, but naturally with many of the defining features still hidden. There are some recognisable McLaren traits though, such as the very low scuttle, curvaceous rear and quite an angular front end. Here the P14 looks long and low too, the back in particular more dramatic than a 650 and with a slight hint of Carrera GT to it also.
There will surely be more info to come from McLaren on the aero and what not, but here it's worth checking the intakes below the headlights and at the front bumper, the rather odd looking side skirts and a few vents around the engine. Loads of vents in fact, particularly around the rear numberplate.
As for the final styling, or what this car will be called, we don't know just yet. We wouldn't expect Ferrari to accept a new McLaren without a riposte either, so it looks like being an exciting few months for supercar fans and buyers!
