Opinions were fairly mixed last time a
Lamborghini Veneno
featured on PistonHeads, indeed quite recently when one of the four cars was exhibited at Lamborghini London. But would it be a 'true' Lamborghini special without some controversy around it? Discuss...
Anyway, here we have the Veneno in the more fitting environment (or otherwise; again up for debate) of Vallelunga racetrack. According to the video description this was an exclusive Lamborghini event, begging the question of why some YouTuber was able to film.
Whatever, it's a chance to see a Veneno being driven quickly, on a circuit and in the rain as well. Kudos to the owner: there would be many drivers of far less valuable cars who would shirk at these conditions. It isn't the most thrilling track video you'll ever watch, and the action only really gets going two minutes in, but it remains rather cool to see such a rare car doing more than 3mph.
As you might expect, the Veneno's V12 sounds just as savage here as in other installations (perhaps more so) and, yes, there is the odd little wiggle of oversteer out of the slower corners. Not something everyone can say after a track day. It also looks absolutely outrageous, even more silly than when stationary.
While you still may not like the Veneno, it is at least nice to see someone somewhere using it as a V12 Lamborghini arguably should be used. Apparently this YouTube channel has a Sesto Elemento vid coming soon as well...
