The A110 greatly impressed us with its balanced chassis, precise steering and generally outstanding dynamic ability when we drove it at
the end of last year
. And now, Alpine has announced two additional trim levels, set to be unveiled at next week's Geneva Motor Show. Christened the A110 'Pure' and A110 'Légende', the new variants are said to "remain true to Alpine's timeless principles of compact size, lightness and agility."
Both iterations will make use of the same aluminium structure, 252hp mid-mounted engine, and 7-speed DCT gearbox as the standard car, with the differences almost certain to lie in equipment levels rather than power output or setup.
The Pure will be the lightest and most driver-focused A110; with fewer options and smaller, 17-inch wheels it's "destined to live its life on winding mountain roads". The Légende, meanwhile, boasts greater refinement for everyday or long-distance driving, with standard equipment including 6-way adjustable Sabelt seats, full leather upholstery, and gloss-finished carbon fibre interior trim.
Three new exterior colours will also be launched along with the two new configurations. No word on what those might be just yet, but we're guessing the likes of Flame Red, Burnt Orange and Charcoal Grey are off the table...
Of course, these aren't the first variations on the Alpine theme to be released by Dieppe since the car's return. Drivers after a truly 'pure' experience can already opt for the A110 Cup, a £90,000 track car complete with 270hp, six-piston Brembo brakes, Öhlins shock absorbers, a self-locking limited slip diff and multipoint roll cage.
We'll look forward to discovering the full details of the other two during Alpine's press conference on 6th March.
