Many of you will have read this article in the Times yesterday morning (see here
). It refers to a discussion that took place in our forums recently.
PistonHeads.com takes the moderation of its forums very seriously and has many measures and safeguards in place to ensure they are safe and legal. We strongly believe that it is unacceptable that any person should ever be subject to personal abuse or threats.
The views expressed by contributors to our forums are those of individuals, not representatives of PistonHeads but we support their right to share them when they are within the law and within our terms and conditions.
When asked by BRAKE to remove the discussion relating to Mary Williams we immediately complied out of courtesy.
The article in the Times came as a surprise however and the use of the term 'Death Threats' would appear to be somewhat disingenuous. The single quote used in the article is both inaccurate and taken out of context.
Today we spoke to Chief Inspector Sykes from West Yorkshire Police who advised that the comments made did not consitute a threat to kill and no further action will be taken.
