Where would you take a stolen car to be serviced?

Technicians at the new BMW Park Lane Service Centre in Nine Elms turned detective this week when a MINI was dropped off to be serviced. The car 'owners' went off to do their shopping to return later to collect their car and their free massage - a special deal being run by the garage currently.

On their return the police were waiting for them. Park Lane staff had checked the service history of the car and found it to be stolen.

Two people were taken to Lavender Hill Police Station and were charged with driving a stolen car and handling stolen goods.

BMW Park Lane spokesperson Andrew Day said “We are obviously delighted to catch a couple of crooks, especially when they are obviously as dim as these two! ”
