Long-distance banger drive for Cancer Research

PHer Andy Blackmore (andy_b) will be taking part in the Staples2Naples banger rally later this month, with the added bonus of raising money for Cancer Research.

Andy and fellow crew members Andy Plumb and Mark Williams, all vehicle designers, have raised over £1,000 so far for the charity. The rally starts from Calais (Staples Corner would have been too complicated) early on 1 October, with challenges set each day. The route takes

the team through most of Central Europe including many of the mountain passes in Switzerland. They aim to reach Naples on 4 October, over 1,700 miles later.

The only catch is that the car must cost less than £100, Luckily fellow PHer Iguana came to the rescue last month and their chariot was born, complete with an Emulsion Paint livery and the all important Pistonheads logo!
