Autocar this week reports that Chrysler plans to beef up its stylish but unsporting Crossfire. It will get a sibling called Firepower, which shares its platform with the Viper -- now to be known as the SRT-10.
Possibly forming the basis for an attack on the Corvette, it will feature full-length glass and a 6.1-litre HEMI V8 -- which should push it along at a reasonable clip. Curiously, the engine size is almost identical to that of the 400hp Corvette we reported on this week.
It will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show next year. It might even look like the concept (top).
