Vision Gran Turismo
series of cars should suit Peugeot perfectly. After all it has become (in)famous for wheeling out mad concepts at motor show that stand no chance of making production. Think
908
Onyx
Quartz SUV
. All very cool, all with little more than a headlight design to relate them to the road cars.
But of course Vision Gran Turismo lets manufacturers off the leash because it's only for a game. Pleasingly then Peugeot has gone all out with absolutely no consideration for the road cars. OK, so maybe the grille is similar.
The Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo is defined by a series of very large and very small numbers. Using a mid-mounted twin-turbo V6 - presumably from Mr. Loeb's 208 - it produces 887hp (875bhp) and weighs 875kg thanks to 'lightweight design'. Hmm. Peugeot also claims a 0-62mph time of 1.73 seconds. Even a tuned GT-R on Gran Turismo 6 can't be that quick (!).
The GT has been designed with Peugeot Sport and a focus on aerodynamic efficiency. It's just 104cm tall with lots of clever aero to keep the car stable without spoilers. As often appears the case with Peugeot concepts, it looks damn good too. Or is that just the 23-inch wheels?
Keep a look out for the Peugeot Vision GT in a Gran Turismo update soon. Then of course the production version that will target the new NSX with a bargain £100K price tag. Only joking. Sorry.
