Thinking of McLarens, many people's minds will go to the soon to be released P14 Super Series, or one of the Holy Trinity - the P1. But what about the first road car since the F1, the 12C?
One lucky PHer had picked up his 2011 12C in a discreet McLaren Blue, with silver wheels and a tan interior, last December.
So far, he has experienced turbo lag, the engine sounding somewhat like a four-cylinder instead of a V8 in the lower part of the rev range and is struggling with the swipe mechanism to open the door.
After a drive home stuck behind a gritting lorry, the car was booked in for paint protection to avoid that stunning blue paintwork from getting damaged. He admits that even though the Ferrari 458 has a more 'characterful engine' he would struggle to get on track days with one, whilst the fact that he wanted to buy British for a change cemented the 12C as his supercar choice.
Congratulations baronbennyt, your McLaren 12C is our Reader's Car of the Week - we look forward to reading about your 'ring trip in April. Read the full thread here.
