The Sierra RS500 Cosworth is a car that's held in very high regard on PH, with coverage and response that reflects that: whether it's an old

, we love writing about them and it would seem PH loves discussing them.
Next year in fact marks 30 years since the 500-run homologation was introduced, all of course in right-hand drive for the UK. To mark the occasion, January's Performance Car Show will gather together a selection of super Sierras from road and track. And well, who would want to miss that?
Already confirmed are chassis DJR1, a Shell Ultra Hi liveried car that raced in Australia, and chassis AREKAL 0288. This is the very car with which Andy Rouse dominated the 1988 BTCC, taking 10 pole positions and winning nine of the 12 races that year. For those that don't know, it's the Mobil liveried car (it went to Australia for 1989, where Mobil were the title sponsors).
There will also be race cars that competed in Japan and Germany, the latter represented by an Lui liveried RS500 that took Manuel Reuter to second in the 1987 DTM. That livery is worth looking up on Google in fact, it looks fantastic.
With help from the RS500 Owners' forum and community, a collection of roadgoing cars is due at the show also, promising to make this a fantastic celebration for all those who love the Sierra Cosworth. With values still apparently rising, it will now be a very valuable collection of classic cars as well!
Expect more details about the Performance Car Show - and PH involvement with it - over the coming weeks. Tickets are already available here - see you there!
