Our 2016 Sunday Service calendar kicked off in style yesterday with a trip to BMW MINI's swanky head office in Farnborough. With the sun shining and even an extra hundred places not enough to satisfy demand, it was set to be a great day from the start.
Pig the dog, the latest Sunday Service PHer
As one might have expected, our BMW contingent was out in even greater force than usual; standouts for us being an immaculately restored E30 M3 in Santorini Blue, a beautiful white on white E24 6 Series and the now familiar sight of five M3 CSLs together. BMW themselves also put on an impressive display. Attendees were given a rare chance to see the new M4 GTS and the M2 plus both of their predecessors, the M3 GTS and 1 M, amongst the rest of BMW's extensive collection.
Mini brought along their Challenge race car to add to the occasion, as well as a host of models from past and present including several GPs. And, of course, the usual smorgasbord of PHer's cars ensured huge variety and something special was always just around the corner.
Accommodating so many people poses a challenge in such a confined area and, although not a conventional location for a Sunday Service, parking in the onsite multi-story literally added an extra dimension to proceedings. With the added benefit of excellent acoustics for the cacophony of exotic exhausts coming and going. Thank you to everyone for your understanding on that front.
Thank you as well to those of you who brought along treats for the PH team, they kept us going through the day! I hope you all enjoyed the morning as much as we did and we look forward to seeing you again at our next event, details of which will be announced soon.
