Yes, the news that we all expected on Top Gear has now been finalised. Chris Evans, having strenuously denied he was interested in the Top Gear presenter job, has been given the Top Gear presenter job.
It's alright, we're dead jealous too
He has signed a three-year deal to lead the all-new Top Gear line-up, with production of another series beginning in the next few weeks. Evans has said he is "thrilled" at the announcement, adding that "I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward."
Given filming is apparently so close, the discussion will now surely switch to who will join Chris Evans as the next TG presenters. Is Jodie Kidd still a possibility? Philip Glenister perhaps? There remain a few names in the running.
The release from the BBC states that "more information will be announced in due course." We will of course keep you updated on any progress. Meanwhile there's a seven-page thread already going on Evans' appointment - get in with your view now!
