Yes, yes, there's not a huge amount to be gleaned from this batch of
Jaguar F-Pace
images. But given all that was released at Detroit was the name and the badge, even to see a heavily camouflaged car is a worthwhile discussion point.
Where's the ruthenium trim gone?
Encouragingly, a lot that looked good about the
C-X17
appears to have remained. The front design looks similar and the glasshouse still looks fairly narrow. They may be quite heavily concealed but the lights have a similar F-Type aping design too. The rear overhang is longer than the C-X17 though and, as expected, the dramatic hatch design isn't there.
There's a very early version of the C-X17's interior on display too. It may not be worth reading too much into it just yet but there are some recognisable bits from existing JLR products on show amongst the wires and the Big Red Buttons. Expect a strong XE influence throughout given the F-Pace will also use Jaguar's iQ[Al] aluminium monocoque. The Ingenium engines will surely feature too.
Given the XE is now currently enjoying its time in the limelight and launches in the spring, don't expect to see much official on the F-Pace for a little while yet. When there's more we'll let you know!
