Diesel. The word can still make petrolheads shudder at the thought of it finding its way into a performance car. It's the devil's juice, used only for trucks and mighty torque machines.
Nowadays diesel engines are more refined than ever, and can be found in pretty much any type of car, including race cars. But can they sound as good as their petrol counterparts? That is the question posed by original, TazLondon. Plenty of you have passed on their comments, with many enjoying the whistling of turbos in their diesel engines.
Last week, our reader's car of the week was a diesel Mercedes pushing 570hp, which is remarkable to say the least. Would it sound something like an Audi R18 TDI Le Mans car? Or just a mad Berlin taxi?
