Anybody who has been keeping up to date with F1 in recent weeks will know that radio coaching messages to drivers have been banned. In previous seasons, the FIA had issued a document telling teams what they weren't allowed to say to drivers. More recently that document has been amended to what is permitted in radio messages, when and where. It proves frustrating for drivers, with incidents occurring at Silverstone GP and last weekend's Hungarian GP. Both Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button were penalised after being informed of problems with their cars.
It may look like a solitary sport, with driver and car as one, but the reality of F1 is that teams of engineers work on the car day in and day out in preparation for a race. Other team sports like football, rugby, basketball and rowing allow the coach to direct instruction to players needing it.
So should the F1 radio ban stand, or should it be lifted? Let us know here.
