Well this is jolly good news on a murky Monday morning. Lotus has formed an alliance with Magnitude Events to run track days at its Hethel test facility. Rebuilt during the Bahar years and FIA certified, it's the ideal place to run a circuit day or two. It helps also that East Anglia is only really served by Snetterton as another track venue.
Non-Brit classics are allowed. Really
There is a catch though. At present the Magnitude Hethel events are restricted to heritage track days, which means only cars produced prior to 1995 are eligible. Which seems a shame. It is open to all marques and makes though, not just Lotus. Hopefully that situation can change sooner rather than later.
Those classic car owners attending Hethel events will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the factory and the Classic Team Lotus garages. The track days will feature a classic car meet too for those not wanting to take their pride and joy on the circuit. All sounds most enjoyable.
The Magnitude track days at Hethel will cost from £79 with 75 places at each event. The first is on July 5 with more details on the website.
